ReplyDeleteA number of my favorite ex-students, now friends, are coming to the wedding. One is Romanian. I put it in for the two of you and anyone who might be lurking so we can get few more countries on the map (e.g. her mother!). I will look forward to introducing the two of you. Delia, meet Parachute. Parachute, meet Delia. You will like each other I think.

This comes from The Beverly Hillbillies, in an episode in which Jethro (the one with the book learnin', having gotten through 6th grade) gets a draft notice.
Jethro -- "Lookie, Uncle Jed. I got a letter from the President of the U-nited States!"
Jed -- "Well, open 'er up, boy, let's see what he's got to say."
Jethro (tearing open the envelope and reading) --
"Greetin's!"
Jed -- "Right friendly feller."
