- We could be married on Emmett and Kerstin's lawn, with its gorgeous view of the entire valley... but we'd have to get a hundred or more people up that narrow dirt road, and past all forty of Carl's junked cars along the way.
- We could be married on the town green, the center of the community, but that's operated by the local church, who may have no particular interest in hosting a ceremony between a Jew and an agnostic.
- We could be married at Springs Park, under the trees and with the sound of the river behind us, but there are no bathrooms.
Also, we just discovered that we have an added attraction for the weekend of our wedding. The day after, Sunday the 26th, is the annual Middletown Springs Strawberry Festival. Dozens of flats of strawberries, dozens of gallons of ice cream, and the best homemade shortcake scones you could ever want. So we'll have a second day of celebration, combining community and guests in an expression of our home place. Hope you'll join us.
